Yesterday afternoon, I went fishing on the river and released a few small bass I caught near the shoals. Later that evening, from the back porch, I used a 17 to shoot Miller cans filled with water that were sitting on a rusty old barrel at the back fence just in front of the cotton field.

Huh? What? Using a gun in LA?

Nope, I'm not writing from prison... so, I must be in...

You guessed it. I'm at home in Georgia.

I decided LA just wasn't my thing, so I moved back to red clay, juicy peaches and dirt roads.

Yes, I am still pursuing the acting/modeling thing. I've had a few meetings with agencies in Atlanta... have made a decision and have already begun work. (Will announce the agencies soon.)

True, Atlanta is a 3-hour drive from my home in Leesburg... but you know what? At certain times of the day, Santa Monica was a 3-hour drive from Burbank!

Worth it. Totally worth it. Worth the muscadine wine, worth the boiled peanuts.

And you should see Beauregard. He loves loves loves playing outside, laying in the shady grass, diggin holes (not such a good thing), running with the football, chasing dragonflys, and playing in the waterhose. I have to practically beg him to come in the house at night... lure him in with a Beggin' Strip.

People talk like me. They don't ask, "Where are you from, Texas?" (And just so everyone knows - not all Southern accents are Texan, and for that matter, every Southern state has their own dialect... Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana...)

I do plan to make trips to LA for various projects and work. My first trip back is the first week in October.

I don't hate LA. I like the opportunities there. I have friends there. But, I love being a Georgia girl. And I have friends here, too. Good friends. And family. I am working on a project that should allow me stints in LA, but I'll always know that when I'm done, home is Georgia and that's where I'll return!
